ホーチミンにギャラリーを開設して以来、TomuraLeeはベトナムの現代アートシーンとの関わりを深めてきました。こうした背景のもと、私たちはベトナムの新進アーティスト、ブイ・ティエンとレ・ミン・ダイをフィーチャーしたグループ展を開催いたします。

ブイ・ティエンの芸術スタイルは一見伝統的に見えるかもしれませんが、彼女の作品は、特に女性のエンパワーメントといった極めて現代的なテーマを扱っています。一連の自画像を通じて、彼女は現代のベトナム人女性を描き出し、自身のイメージと日常の文化的な要素を織り交ぜています。彼女の創作活動は、伝統と現代のアイデンティティとの対話を生み出し、その作品は自分自身を描きながらも、多くの人々に共感されるものとなっています。

対照的に、レ・ミン・ダイは抽象シュルレアリズムの領域で制作しています。彼の絵画は多様な解釈を誘い、広大な宇宙、流れる川、海の波、竜巻、あるいは水滴といったイメージを喚起します。構造的でありながら流動的な彼の構図は、根底にある秩序を暗示する一連の線によって導かれており、主題と感情を明瞭に浮かび上がらせつつも、鑑賞者の想像力に委ねる余地を残しています。

“The Rise of Contemporary Vietnamese Art”

Since opening our gallery in Ho Chi Minh City, TomuraLee has expanded its engagement with the Vietnamese contemporary art scene. In this context, we organized a group exhibition featuring two emerging Vietnamese artists: Bui Tien and Le Minh Dai.

Bui Tien’s artistic style may appear traditional at first glance, yet her work addresses highly contemporary themes, particularly women’s empowerment. Through her series of self-portraits, she depicts the modern Vietnamese woman, intertwining her image with elements of everyday cultural life. Her practice creates a dialogue between heritage and present-day identity, making her work both personal and widely relatable.

In contrast, Le Minh Dai works within the realm of abstract surrealism. His paintings invite multiple interpretations, evoking imagery such as vast universes, flowing rivers, ocean waves, tornadoes, or even droplets of water. Structured yet fluid, his compositions are guided by sequences of lines that suggest an underlying order, allowing both subject and emotion to emerge with clarity while remaining open to the viewer’s imagination.
